Good/Bad Website Smackdown: Nike vs. Shein

https://youtu.be/1EMGiBiD5QQ

The two websites that I chose for this smackdown are Nike and Shein. Both of these websites are popular clothing/merchandise brands. It is important when looking at a website, that it is easy to navigate, designed efficiently, and doesn't make you question whether or not being on it is going to steal all your information.

Nike is a great website, and very well organized. As soon as you get to the home page, you can see how user-friendly it is, while also being aesthetically pleasing. Since the brand is targeted towards making sports apparel, the website has specific tabs for every sport that will take you to things like shoes, equipment, and apparel for that specific sport. When you click on a product, you are presented with multiple pictures of the product that are high-quality and provide multiple angles. Overall, Nike is a good website, because it is fairly simple, making it easy-to-use for any consumer.

Shein is a bad website compared to Nike, because it is very unorganized and difficult to navigate. When opening the website, you are not only presented with multiple pop-up advertisements, but the home page is very chaotic. Since Shein sells such a wide range of products, it can be very stressful to find what you are looking for, and it has way too many categories. The pictures of the products are often low-quality and heavily photoshopped, making it difficult to tell what you are actually buying. The website is also questionable as to whether it is safe and secure to be on.

Throughout by career path of Business, it will be extremely important for me to make sure that the websites I create for my business, or the websites that I visit are reliable and secure. The difference between a bad and good website can really make or break things for a company.
