Technology Blog #2: Building a Connected Learning Community And How It Applies To My Career

This chapter really did a good job of explaining how to network effectively, and how to make meaningful connections digitally. When building a connected learning community online, it is important to establish your profile and consistently improve it, especially with the people you follow/connect with. The chapter emphasizes that you should be very cautious and intentional when following others, and only make connections with people who could be beneficial for your learning and networking journey.

Strategies for Building Strong Employee Connections at Workplace

Once you establish a healthy connected learning community, it is also important to constantly engage with others in it, in order to maintain the community. The chapter suggests developing a shared vision within the community, and encourages working together and sharing all ideas. It can be very beneficial for one's own career to make these connections and learn from other people's experiences and their own knowledge. I liked how the author explained this as not only knowing what you know but also who you know, and finally "what who you know knows". Without building a community of valuable connections, you are not getting the most out of your digital experience, so this chapter highlights the importance of taking the time to make meaningful connections to improve your learning.

  3. I agree that establishing connections is very important. Connecting with the right people on social media is more important than how many connections you have. You also need to make sure you share the same morals and that these people will benefit your learning. I like how you connected this to your career as networking is very important in the business world. Meeting people can lead to more job opportunities and advance your career.

  4. you pointed out that maintaining the community takes effort. A lot of people forget that networking isn’t a one-time thing. You actually have to engage, share ideas, and contribute to conversations. That part about “what you know, who you know, and what who you know knows” really shows how powerful connections can be. Knowledge expands when you’re surrounded by people who bring different skills and experiences to the table.
